Laughter.
The thing about black and white photography is that you forget about the background or the little things (as they fade away), and your attention goes directly to the main point of interest- hopefully evoking emotion. The thing with smiles and laughter is that it can be contagious. Did it work? Did you smile? Go ahead and enjoy the captured moment experienced between two friends.
