Words that Inspire My Photography, 2011 |
I just finished reading "25 Lessons I've Learned About Photography Life!" by Lorenzo Dominguez. The author writes about how he fell in love with photography on the streets of New York City. Here are a few sayings/ quotes imbedded in the novel that I loved:
- "...trying to see the world through a child's eyes. To do so, you must let go of all the things you must do, and simply explore without an agenda, without the compulsion to track of time and place, without a care to divert you away from appreciating all the glorious details of the environment that glimmers around you."
- "If you always rely on yourself to maintain your emotional and cognitive equilibrium you'll always be equipped to pick up your internal anchor and move on to wherever the winds of life take you."
- "Sometimes, even the most innocuous things are bitterly contended or rallied against by others because they do not conform to the way 'every else' perceives or believes or cedes that we should uniformly behave... stick to your guns".
- "For isn't what makes an extraordinary photograph or work of art special the fact that the photographer or artist has shown us something that they see, but that others had not seen?"
